Wade Lange

President and Chief Executive Officer

 

Wade Lange has more than 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and contract clinical research industry.  Wade was responsible for market research and pre-launch product planning for Lilly’s Prozac antidepressant.  After his time at Lilly, he built Walker Clinical Evaluations’ successful contract clinical research organization; during this time he managed the sale of the business to a strategic buyer.  Wade then led the Indiana Health Industry Forum, Indiana’s life sciences association, to a leadership position in Indiana’s economic development program.  Wade received a BS in Pharmacy from Purdue University and an MS in Industrial Administration from the Krannert Graduate School of Management at Purdue.

 

David Wilkes, M.D.

Founder and Chief Scientific Officer

 

Dr. David Wilkes, is the Dr. Calvin H. English Professor of Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.  A board certified pulmonary and critical care physician, he is also the director for the Center for Immunobiology at Indiana University.  Since 1993,  David has investigated the immunopathogenesis of lung transplant rejection and other diseases with a focus on alloimmune-induced autoimmunity in lung transplant recipients.  David’s lab is supported currently by two RO1 grants focused on transplant immunology.  In 2006, David was appointed to serve on the National Advisory Council of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health.

 

Michael Klemsz, PhD

Founder and Vice President of Research
Dr. Michael Klemsz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Indiana University School of Medicine. His 15 years of research at IU has included NIH-funded studies on the critical blood cell transcription factor PU.1, which Mike discovered and is a co-patent holder. Additional studies in his laboratory at IU have focused on cytokine signaling pathways and their activation of cellular immune responses, especially related to the development of autoimmune diseases. At IU, Mike has also been involved in the discovery and cloning of novel chemokines and has used molecular techniques to engineer recombinant fusion cytokines.

Ron Meeusen, PhD

Founder and Chairman of the Board

 

Dr. Ron Meeusen brings over 26 years of experience leading research and development efforts in the life sciences sector, building and leading R&D efforts for major agrichemical and seed companies.  During that time he led the development and commercial introduction of many novel products, including four genetically modified crop products (GMO’s). Ron led the expansion of its biotechnology research and development program as Global Leader of Biotechnology at Dow AgroSciences. Ron’s experience also includes work at BioCrossroads where he led development of Indiana’s first economic development strategy for its food and agricultural sectors.  In parallel with founding ImmuneWorks, Ron is raising a venture capital fund to invest in promising life science technologies in the Midwest.
